Pictures from Our Day
Today Ben spent his entire day sleeping. It is funny how we are getting hardly any sleep and he is hardly ever awake. Tomorrow we have to go back to the doctor's office. When we left the hospital he had dropped from 8 pounds 1 ounce to 7 pounds 6 ounces. Yesterday he dropped another ounce, so hopefully tomorrow he will have finally put some weight back on. I really don't want to have to supplement with formula.

A Day of Firsts
Today Ben tried out many new things for the first time. He spent some time in his bouncy seat, and I must say it was a hit. He was so content in it. He also tried out the swing and went on his first walk in the stroller. It has been such a great day as we settle in at home with our little boy.

This afternoon we were able to leave the hospital. Yea!!! Hopefully we will have a good first night. Ben is doing great and eating like a champ. My recovery has been going very well. Thank you all for your prayers. The last couple of days could not have been any better. We are so in love with our little boy!

Change of Plans
Today was a very tough day for us. It has been a roller coaster of emotions. I went in this afternoon for a doctor's appointment since it had been over a week since my last appointment. Everyone felt bad and asked how I was doing. I told my doctor I was alright, but really worried that something was going to happen to Ben. I have had that fear from the very beginning of this pregnancy. I think it is due to the fact that getting pregnant for us was not easy and a very difficult time for me. My doctor said that I was still measuring very big and my cervix had not changed from last week. He wanted to go ahead and do another ultrasound to see how big Ben is getting. The ultrasound showed that he is about 9 lbs. That is even bigger than we originally thought. He offered to go ahead and do a c-section in the morning or stay with the induction on Monday. He recommended going ahead with the c-section. He said if we wait until Monday that I am at a high risk of having to do a c-section anyways due to the baby's size, an unfavorable cervix for induction, and me being overweight. That was one of the toughest decisions we have ever had to make. I really wanted to give it a shot at having him vaginally, but we decided that what was most important is that Ben arrives safely and is healthy. So we are going ahead with the c-section tomorrow at 7am. Please don't leave any negative comments saying we made the wrong decision. I know that they can be off with the weight and he could end up being around 8 pounds, but on the other hand it can be off the other direction and he could be closer to 10 pounds. This was very hard for us and we aren't doing it because we can't wait until Monday or because I am getting uncomfortable. We just feel that we should follow what our doctor recommends.
Please pray for us tomorrow, that everything goes well and that we have a healthy baby boy. Please also pray that I will have peace with this decision.
Still at Home
We are still waiting for a spot to open up. I called at 7:00 this morning and it sounded like they were still really busy. They said they would call me back after lunch.

Back at Home
Well, we are already back from the hospital. Apparently whoever I talked to at 10pm didn't have a clue what they were talking about when they told us to come in. So the charge nurse has our number and is supposed to call when a spot opens up. If not I am to call at 7am. Hopefully we can get some sleep, but I doubt I will be able to knowing the phone might ring and I don't want to miss it. Talk about a pretty disappointing evening.
39 Weeks
Today is my last entire day of being pregnant, for now! Tonight we head to the hospital at 11pm. We are so excited and can't wait to welcome Ben into our family tomorrow. Below are some pictures of Shawn and I when we were babies. I can't wait to see who he looks like!
