Ben's 5th Birthday

Ben is now 5 years old!  I can't believe he is getting so big and will be going to kindergarten in the fall!  Ben weighs 38 pounds 4 ounces and is in the 30th percentile.  He is 42.25" tall and is in the 35th percentile.  Ben had such a great year in school and loved his teachers Ms. Candace and Ms. Fran.  In the Fall, Ben started to learn to read.  We have been taking our time with it, and he has done great.  He can sound out most three and four letter words as well as identify a lot of sight words.

This year he has also learned how to ride a bike!  He had a pretty horrific crash not long after learning how to ride, but I was very proud of him for getting back on the bike!  Ben also learned to ski over spring break.  He did such a great job learning to stop, make turns, and get on and off of the ski lift.  It was so much fun taking him up on the mountain and skiing with him.

This year Ben played both soccer and t-ball.  He loves playing sports!  It is so much fun watching him play soccer.  He can be a bit timid at first not wanting to take the ball away from someone, but the more he plays the more comfortable he gets.  He scored many goals this season and had a blast!  T-ball was a very serious game to Ben.  He was so focused and into it.  I was amazed at how well he was able to pay attention to what was going on in the game.  He got a few people out throughout the season, and his hitting improved a lot by the end of the season.

Ben is such a fun and active little boy.  He is such a sweet and caring friend and a big helper to his teachers.  Ben loves his brother so much it sometimes hurts, Logan LOL!  Ben has such a big year ahead!  I just know he will excel and love kindergarten!

Pictures from his big day!

The kids LOVED this sparkler candle!
