Ben is 4 months old today! Already a third of a year has come and gone. This past month has been a difficult one. Ben was more alert and wanting to play, but very frustrated that he wasn't able to do so himself. In the last couple of days though he has started to reach and grab his toys. It has made him much happier.
Nap time has also been a battle this month. So far he has always napped either in his swing or in my arms, and while my favorite thing to do is hold my sleeping baby, it keeps me from getting anything done. Anytime I would put him in his bed to sleep he would wake up about 30 seconds after I put him down. I dug out his old swaddle blanket and it has worked perfectly. He no longer startles himself awake, and he sleeps a good 40 minutes at a time. Right now he is taking about 4-5 short naps a day. I am hoping he will soon start taking less naps, but nap longer at a time. This month I am going to work on getting him to fall asleep in his bed on his own for naps. He is already able to do that at night, but he fights taking a nap.
In the last week he has really exploded with new things he can do developmentally. He now can grab his feet and is even close to sticking his toes in his mouth. Yum! His favorite thing to do is hold his left foot while sucking his right thumb. That is his other new thing, sucking his thumb. I'm not too thrilled about that. It is nice when we are driving and he is fussy and he finds his thumb, but I am already dreading breaking him from it one day.
Ben has now outgrown all of his 0-3 month clothes and is wearing all 3-6 month clothes. He is wearing a 1-2 diaper right now, but we are about to switch to a size 2 diaper.
This month was also hard during the night. For the longest time he had only been getting up once in the night. This past month it has been about 3 times a night, but he now seems to be getting back to waking up once in the night. He also is starting to go 3 hours between feeds a couple times during the day, otherwise it is every 2 hours. It has been a difficult month, but everything seems to be getting better and I think this month is going to be awesome as he seems to be learning new things everyday.

Ben is probably the cutesy thing I've ever seen! He looks like he's almost sitting up by himself in the chair.
