We had a good day today. Me and Mamaw did some swinging and played on the play ground. We had spaghetti for dinner with vegetables. I had 2 pieces of corn on the cob. I didn't make a mess at all. Fortunately, there are no pictures of that. We played on the back porch this evening and that was lots fun. I played in my water table that Mamaw and Papa gave for my birthday. I didn't get wet at all!! Depends on how you define wet though.

I really miss my Momma!!! I love her very much!!!
Dana left for Las Vegas yesterday and my parents came to visit. Mamaw and Papa brought Ben a chunky puzzle which he has really enjoyed.
Since momma is gone we can wear what we want so this morning we got dressed for the day!
We have been playing a lot and climbing on everything. We miss Momma but hope she is having fun and winning a lot of money!

13 Months Old

Ben turned 13 months old on Sunday. He has changed so much in the last month. We took away his pacifier after his first birthday and I am so glad we did. Within a couple of days he started talking so much. He now says momma, dada, baba (bottle), ni-ni(night-night) and shoes! We went shoe shopping for him a couple of weeks ago and he learned that word and says it any time he sees shoes. He loves to try to put his own shoes on now too.

On the same day Ben turned 13 months old he took his first steps! He shocked Shawn and I. I always knew he was capable of walking, but he never wanted to let go and try. Then that night we were playing in his room and he was standing at the ottoman. Shawn had Ben's comb that he likes to play with, and he just walked right over and got it from him like it was no big deal. He took about 6-7 steps his first try! He walks occasionally, but definitely still prefers to crawl.

Well I am going to reach my first baby milestone this week. I have never spent a night away from Ben since he was born, and tomorrow I am leaving to go to Las Vegas for a girl's trip with my mom and sister. We will be gone for four nights. I am so excited to go, but I know I am going to miss Ben SO much. I am completely comfortable leaving him though because Shawn is such a great daddy and I know he will be in just as good of hands while I am gone. That makes it so much easier leaving him. Shawn's parents will also be visiting while I am gone so I am sure he will be too distracted to realize I am gone. I am taking my laptop and will be able to Skype with them each day. I also asked Shawn to blog each day so I can see what they did that day. I am so glad Ben started walking this week. It was one of my fears that he would take his first steps while I was gone. I am sure when I get back he will be walking so much more.

These pictures are from after church on Sunday. I made him a new reversible jon jon. He wore the John Deere tractor side which has smocking with three tractors on it. I think it turned out so cute! The other side is black gingham with a red firetruck on it.

Looking Who's Walking

Please excuse the nakedness, we were airing out a diaper rash. Apparently clothes were getting in his way of walking.

Crazy Busy

We have been so busy around here. Shawn has worked every Saturday for the last couple of months except for the weekend of Ben's party. This weekend is his first weekend off and I am so excited! Pixie Stitch Boutique has gotten extremely busy. Our Etsy store has taken off and we had about 22 orders in a week, many of which were birthday and baby gift sets that had several pieces to them.

Ben has been pretty busy himself. In the last week he has really started talking. He started saying Momma. One morning he patted me on the arm and said Ma, that will be one of the sweetest memories I will never forget. He now says dada, momma, baba (bottle), and ni-ni (night-night). It is SO cute watching him learn to talk. We still isn't taking any steps yet, but lately you can really see him thinking about letting go of something to try to walk. I think it is only a matter of time until he takes his first steps.

We recently extended our back porch and we are having so much fun playing out there in the evenings. I bought Ben a baby pool and a few big boy toys with his birthday money. He has really gotten into cars, trucks, and machines. It is so cute to see him pushing them back and forth. He even makes a little motor sound. I think he must be spending a lot of time around the big boys :-)

Ben loves to play with his tongue

Watch out Macie
Ben likes to sit on the outside of the pool and splash. He isn't too interested in getting into the pool yet. Maybe once it is over 100 degrees!

Here are a few of the orders we have been working on lately.
