Las Vegas

Shawn and I went to Las Vegas for our anniversary. We stayed at Paris. I really liked the hotel, and we had a great view from our room. We could see the Bellagio water show from our window.

We spent a day walking around seeing all of the different hotels.

We played some bingo which was a lot of fun. The bingo crowd takes it very seriously and you don't want to get in their way. We gambled a little. I learned that Shawn has the worst luck in the world. He would put some money in the machine and wouldn't win a dime, but he seemed to bring me good luck. I won about $400 one day.
We went to see Danny Gans one evening. If you ever go to Vegas, get tickets for his show. We loved it. He impersonates a bunch on singers and he is pretty funny as well. Overall the show is very entertaining.

It was Shawn's first trip to Vegas and probably his last. He enjoyed seeing everything and enjoyed Danny Gans, but to him once you have seen it once, you don't need to see it again.
We videoed the Bellagio water show. If I ever figure out how to add a video, I will add it. The water show is amazing.

Our First Anniversary

I can't believe it has already been a year since we said I do. This past year has been so wonderful. I love being married. It is so nice to have someone to come home to everyday and to share my life with. God has blessed my life so much. I can't wait to see what the second year has in store for us.

I am sure everyone is sick of seeing pictures from our wedding, but it was such a blur to me that I love to look at the pictures.

Mother's Day

Last weekend, Shawn and I went to Fort Worth to visit his parents for Mother's Day. We had a great time. On Sunday, Shawn's grandparents and his sister's family came over for lunch. Here are a couple of pictures from our weekend.

Shawn Locke, Ph.D.

On Friday, Shawn successfully completed his defense and is now a DOCTOR!!! Shawn's parents, my parents, and I were there as Shawn gave his presentation on his dissertation. He did a great job. I am so proud of him. It has been a long, tough semester for him, but he is finally done and did such a wonderful job. We have to wait until August for him to walk the stage, but for now he will have a certificate of completion.

Great News

Shawn finished his last class at A&M today. Now he just needs to put the final touches on his dissertation and do his defense. Hopefully, he will finish up in May and then graduate in August. I am so proud of him. It has been an extremely busy semester for him with working, taking his class, and writing his dissertation.
Here are a couple of pictures from his early school days.

Spring Time

I love spring time. On Saturday, Shawn and I spent the day working in the yard. I planted some petunias while he mowed, and then we put mulch in all of the flower beds. I think it is looking pretty good. The yard isn't completely green yet and the lantana hasn't quite grown back, but it is looking better. Here are some pictures of the work in progress.

Digital Scrapbooking

I have never been able to get into scrapbooking because of everything you need to buy to get started. Plus I do not like my handwriting, so I knew anything I wrote would look bad. I discovered digital scrapbooking this past week and I think this will be so much easier for me. I didn't have all of my pictures on my computer so my first try is just with the few pictures I have. What do you think?

The Past Week

Have you ever seen a heart shaped pizza before? Since, Shawn had class until 7:30, he got us one for dinner for Valentine's Day/my birthday. He also got me a cake and had my car windows tinted. I think he did pretty good job despite the fact that he had class that night.

Shawn thought it would be funny to swap the numbers, I didn't think so.

The best present of all was Andrew coming home from the NICU that day (Adam came home 3 days later). We are so happy to have them home. I had so much fun over the weekend giving them a bottle, changing diapers, and outfits. I think I was asked 8 times, if having them around made me want one. Seems like a silly question to me, I already wanted one. They are so precious and so sweet. I am having so much fun.

Aren't they adorable?
